Alexa & Evan’s Heartfelt Wedding at Chateau Selah

July 7, 2024, was a day brimming with love and unforgettable moments as Alexa and Evan celebrated their wedding at the magnificent Chateau Selah in Blountville, TN. From tender engagements in the natural beauty of Roan Mountain to golden-hour portraits and a truly unique reception, every detail of their story was as beautiful as the love they share. We were honored to provide all-day wedding photography and videography services, capturing every smile, tear, and moment in between.

From Cloudy Mountain Top to Wedding Bliss

Before their wedding day, we had the pleasure of joining Alexa and Evan for their engagement session at Carvers Gap atop Roan Mountain. It was a wet, cloudy morning, with mist dancing through the trees and a soft light that created a magical atmosphere. Alexa and Evan embraced the weather, letting their connection take center stage against the stunning natural backdrop. The images we captured that morning told a story as unique as the couple themselves and set the tone for their wedding day.

Fast forward to their big day at Chateau Selah, and the theme of natural beauty and romantic charm continued. Partly overcast skies made an appearance again, lending soft and even lighting throughout the day. We often call this weather “nature’s softbox,” and it beautifully complemented the elegance of the venue and the love radiating between the couple.

A Perfect Golden-Hour Moment

While the overcast skies provided gorgeous light for much of the day, the best surprise came just before sunset. The clouds parted, and the sun finally emerged, filling the sky with warm, golden light. We stole Alexa and Evan away for a few quiet moments to capture golden-hour couples portraits. The soft sunset glow enveloped them, creating some of our favorite photos of the day. The way the golden light reflected their love was simply breathtaking, making their story even more special.

A Performance Straight from the Heart

One of the most memorable moments of Alexa and Evan’s wedding came during the reception when Evan surprised everyone with a heartfelt performance for his bride. Guitar in hand, and with a voice full of emotion, Evan sang a song just for Alexa. The room fell silent as everyone took in the love and vulnerability in that moment. It was the kind of simple, beautiful gesture that brought tears to many eyes.

From that point on, the reception was a joyful celebration. Chateau Selah provided the perfect setting for laughter and dancing as their family and friends joined together to toast the newlyweds. Delicious food, heartfelt toasts, and happy memories filled the evening.

A Sweet Twist on Tradition

Alexa and Evan put their own unique touch on their wedding by opting for wedding pies instead of a traditional cake. This sweet and quirky detail delighted their guests, who enjoyed a variety of pies that were as beautiful as they were tasty. It was a lovely nod to the couple’s personal style and a fun way to end an amazing evening.

Why This Day Will Always Stand Out

Alexa and Evan’s wedding at Chateau Selah was a celebration of love, music, and genuine connection. From the misty magic of their engagement session to the golden-hour portraits and Evan’s moving performance, every moment spoke to the depth of their bond and the joy they bring to each other.

Thank you, Alexa and Evan, for allowing us to be part of your incredible story. We’re grateful to have captured these memories for you, and we hope they continue to bring you joy in the years to come.
